If you’re new here, I’m the auction guy you probably saw on Insta, YouTube or X. You may have downloaded my Auction Starter Guide with the lists of all the auction sites and tips on getting started.

Thanks for being here Reader. Let's get right into it.

Hey Reader,

A new member named Brian introduced himself in the Mastermind this week.

He’s in Massachusetts. He heard me on a podcast a while back and couldn’t stop thinking about reselling.

So he started where most of us start. He sold the stuff collecting dust in his house on Facebook Marketplace.

It worked. He learned a ton. Now he wants to buy his first liquidation pallets. He just set up TikTok to live sell. He’s working through our playbooks.

Then he said the thing that stuck with me. What he likes most is that everyone in here cheers each other on.

Brian doesn’t know much yet. That’s his biggest advantage.

The power of knowing nothing

Most people hide what they don’t know. They lurk. They wait until they feel “ready” before they ask a question or make a move.

Here’s what 30 years of doing deals taught me: people love to help a beginner.

Say “I’m new and I don’t know much about this,” and something shifts. The other person stops guarding and starts teaching. You’re not selling. You’re asking.

That one sentence has opened more doors for me than any pitch I’ve ever made.

How Brian (and you) can use it

  1. Before your first pallet, ask the buyers: Find 3 people who buy the kind of product you’re eyeing. Tell them you’ve got an opportunity on [category] and you don’t know the market. Ask what they’d pay. If someone says “I’d take that at $X,” you just priced your bid before spending a dollar. Test before you buy.

  2. On TikTok Live, don’t sell. Present: Nobody wants to be pitched for an hour. Show the item. Tell them what you found and what you don’t know. “Never seen one of these. Anyone know what it is?” Chat lights up, and chat is what keeps you on the For You page.

  3. Ask the room: Brian posted his intro and the replies started within hours. Every question you post in a room full of resellers saves you from a mistake someone else already paid for.

The fear part

Everyone battles fear. Everyone.

The fear of failure is worse than the actual failure.

Failure gives you data. Fear gives you excuses.

Brian’s first pallet might be a home run or a dud. Either way he’ll know more than he does today. He’ll also have [3,300+] people helping him figure out why.

You don’t have to know anything to start. You just have to raise your hand.

For $5 you get the same playbooks Brian is working through, plus live calls. You also get a room full of resellers who will cheer when you win your first auction, and tell you straight when a manifest looks bad.

Cheers to your inevitable success!
