I’m in New Orleans this week to meet with a business group.
Before I left, I flagged six auctions and wrote down where I thought each one would close. No peeking and no changing my answers.
Now that they are closed, let’s see how I did.
- $80,947 of new Hanes bid to $525
- $251,502 of Luxury Fashion bid to $3,425
- $140,636 of Christmas Trees bid to $725
- $11,609 of new TVs for $5,000 – Skip it!
- $9,892 of new footwear for $1425
- $53,179 of new Commercial Pressure Washers bid to $5,244
S&S Activewear is blowing out brand-new Hanes long- and short-sleeve T-shirts at 99% off.
The bid is $525 and will likely go up a bit, but I predict it will close at around 95% off MSRP.
My Prediction on 9/27: $1250
Check-in: Sold for $675!
$251,502 worth of women’s apparel, handbags, and more bid to 1.4% of the MSRP.

Rent the Runway is a great place to start in fashion auctions. They consistently have some of the best deals, with a wide variety of products that are great for live selling or listing on marketplaces like Poshmark.

I always say that the best time to buy Christmas trees is in January, but I might be wrong when you can buy them in September!

Since I’m writing this newsletter early, before my trip, this auction still has one day left. The bids will go up, but how much higher do you think?

TVs are a terrible category to resell. Most manufacturers make more money on selling your viewing data than they do on selling the TVs themselves.
It’s sexy, and it sounds impressive to sell giant TVs. But skip the headaches and the competition.
$9,892 worth of new footwear bid to $1425.
You’ll want to be on the West Coast to save on shipping for this deal. Big 5 consistently sells brand new footwear for 75-80% off the retail price.
My Prediction: $2315

If you are near North Carolina, this is an interesting deal to look at.
$53,179 worth of new commercial pressure washers in a make-an-offer deal from Grainger.
The current make-an-offer price is $5,244.
